After settling into your bungalow, take a walk through the monkey forest as your guide points out the various species cavorting in the canopy overhead. After lunch on your own, head out to visit a local family to learn about Amazonian traditions and customs. Then, stop by a fishing spot to go angling for the notorious piranha fish. After dinner at the lodge, take a canoe out with an experienced guide to see if you can spot alligators.

Witness the Meeting of the Waters
Following a delicious breakfast of Western favorites and locally harvested fruits like bananas and papaya, join a full-day tour to view the Meeting of the Waters. Where the Amazon and the Tapajós rivers converge, their waters retain their own distinct colors for several miles as they flow side by side. It is one of the Amazon’s many remarkable phenomena.
Take a jungle walk and return to Manaus
You'll visit an Indian Village where you will have an opportunity to interact with locals and learn about daily life along the Amazon. Keep an eye out for macaws, toucans, and squirrel monkeys. Then return by boat to Manaus, taking in the lush riverbanks and cacophony of creatures as you go. Lunch is included. This afternoon, meet your fellow travelers just arriving for the base trip.
